حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُنِيبٍ، عَنِ السَّرِيِّ بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ بِسْطَامِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنِ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ مُؤَذِّنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ،
«رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أُسْقُفًا مِنَ الْأَسَاقِفَةِ وَأَنَا حَاضِرٌ: مَنْ بَعْدَهُ؟ فَقَالَ: رَجُلٌ لَيْسَ بِهِ بَأْسٌ يُؤْثِرُ أَقْرِبَاءَهُ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: «رَحِمَ اللَّهُ عُثْمَانَ، رَحِمَ اللَّهُ عُثْمَانَ»
