حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى رَحِمَهُمَا اللَّهُ:
«لَا أُمَارِي صَاحِبِي، فَإِمَّا أَنْ أُكْذِبَهُ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ أُغْضِبَهُ»
