Sunan al-Darimi 372

Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Darimi

««لَقَدْ طَلَبَ أَقْوَامٌ الْعِلْمَ مَا أَرَادُوا بِهِ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى، وَلَا مَا عِنْدَهُ» «فَمَا زَالَ بِهِمُ الْعِلْمُ حَتَّى أَرَادُوا بِهِ اللَّهَ وَمَا عِنْدَهُ»»

Its text does not say these are the Prophet’s words ﷺ, so they are not framed in gold.

٣٧٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْبَزَّارُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، ⦗٣٧٢⦘ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: «لَقَدْ طَلَبَ أَقْوَامٌ الْعِلْمَ مَا أَرَادُوا بِهِ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى، وَلَا مَا عِنْدَهُ» قَالَ: «فَمَا زَالَ بِهِمُ الْعِلْمُ حَتَّى أَرَادُوا بِهِ اللَّهَ وَمَا عِنْدَهُ» [تعليق المحقق] حسان بن مسلم ما وجدت له ترجمة وباقي رجاله ثقات. وما وجدته مسندا في غير هذا الموضع
